Once upon a time, a teenager got a bad grade in math, a subject she usually did well in. So her mother took her for an eye exam, and the teenager got her very first pair of prescription lenses. Within a decade, she had to wear glasses to drive. Then, when she was in her early thirties, she was in an accident that caused a head injury. That head injury zapped her balance, but miraculously knocked her vision back to near perfect, and for the next 20 or so years, she no longer needed prescription lenses.
